There is a weight limit on stair lifts in the UK which is that no person above 160 kilos or 25 stone is recommended to use the lift. The reason behind this is simply safety, given the incline and the angle of the stair lift, any failure owing to too much weight being placed on the lift could cause it to break and injure somebody. Some companies will have restrictions below this so be sure that you speak with them first if you do have concerns.
