Las Vegas is the bachelor party capitol of the world. About 99 percent of it, I will never, ever understand. So when I was offered the opportunity to go to a gun range, something it never occurred to me I’d do, I obviously jumped at the chance. I was nervous and didn’t get it and so out of my element it was ridiculous. What I didn’t expect? The insane adrenaline rush, relief when it was over — and that I’d really like one gun and loathe the others. I went to the Pro Gun Club as part of a day of adventure organized by Galavantier. That is sort of the best part: Even though all of this happens to be 15 minutes from MY house, I still didn’t have the courage to go alone. I met up with my friends on the Strip, and Galavantier arranged everything, from transportation and lunch — to the off-roading and gun-shooting. I was shaking like a leaf!
I’ve done this exactly twice, and unexpectedly enjoyed it both times! Once with a writer friend who wanted to know what it felt like to fire a certain kind of gun, and another on a press trip – where at the facility they said that women are renowned for being the best sharp shooters!
Good for you
My wife and I are active shooters here in Alberta Canada and to us it’s second nature. Just for sport and stress relief LOL. The last time we were in Las Vegas we went to The Gune Store (yes, that’s it’s name) and our 10 year old got to shoot as well. We need more women shooters so enjoy the sport and continue to post your adventures. All the best

How fun!! I grew up with gun-toting cousins and they let me shoot out in the boonies on their huge farms on the Canadian prairies. But they definitely didn’t have anything like this!
