With great attractions within the city itself, it’s also easily accessible to nearby cities such as Chester, Manchester and is additionally within easy driving distance to the Peak District, and the Yorkshire Dales or even further afield to Ireland if you have lots of time on your hands. Liverpool – On Its Own
Liverpool is a great destination city for those looking for something a bit different to the cities to the south such as Bristol and London. Liverpool is home to the world famous Beatles’ Museum, and a historic harbour front which boasts many options for shopping and relaxation, and the area is also known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Additionally, there are a whole host of various museums throughout the city which provide a look into the very colourful past of this interesting and bustling city. There are also a huge, varied assortment of hotels in Liverpool to choose from, which suit all prices and tastes, helping you get the most out of any visit to the city. Also check out the enormous Liverpool One Shopping Centre, which is home to a huge variety of shops and restaurants, ideal for picking up the bits and bobs you may need on your trip.
Liverpool – Around the City
Only a short drive away are the fantastic outdoor wonderlands of the Peak District and also the Yorkshire Dales, two areas of outstanding natural beauty which are the outdoor-lovers dreams come true. With great hikes, lakes, trails and other assorted outdoor activities, the Dales and the Peak District are perfect for all sorts of people, including couples and families with young children. To the south west is the historical, and beautiful cathedral city of Chester, which hosts the famous Chester Rows shopping district, medieval pathways elevated over the main street, a true ideal day trip from Liverpool.
Liverpool – Further Afield
If you’re visiting the area as part of a larger tour around the area, there are a number of great locations that are close to Liverpool, allowing you to use it as a starting point for trips further afield. To the west, along the north coast of Wales, you will eventually come to the absolutely breathtaking Snowdon National Park, hosting some of the world’s most beautiful scenery, and a bit further west is the coastal town of Holyhead. Two locations perfect for a couple of days away from Liverpool. Further north from the city is the coastal town of Blackpool, with its famous beaches and arcades, and further north still will take you to the breathtaking Lake District – one of the most sought after holiday destinations in the whole UK.
