Your skin is a big part of that. More than that, if you don’t look after it, it can quickly become either dry and flaky, or greasy and spotty, especially over winter time, or when you are stressed out. If you are busy and stressed, and not looking after yourself properly, your skin is often one of the first places it shows. Fortunately, looking after your skin doesn’t need to be expensive or time consuming. Just a few small changes can leave your skin soft, supple and glowing all year around.

Watch your diet
Greasy, unhealthy food is one of the leading causes of greasy, spot prone skin. The occasional treat is OK, but you should try to stick to a healthy diet most days. Fruits and vegetables are full of vitamins, which can help your skin stay bright and glowing. You should also try to drink eight glasses of water a day. Carry a bottle around with you to make it easier. Your skin, like the rest of your body is made of large quantities of water, so it needs rehydrating to look its best.
Get Some Fresh Air
Staying in all the time and not getting any natural vitamin D can quickly lead to dry, sallow skin. Try to get out for a walk every day, even if you don’t do any outdoor exercise. But, always make sure to wear either sunscreen, or make up and moisturizers with added SPF, even when it’s cold. The sun’s rays, even if you can’t feel them, can damage your skin, age it prematurely, and even lead to skin cancer over time.
Sleeping in your makeup, or just staying covered in dirt and grease from your day, quickly clogs your pores, leading to spot outbreaks and blackheads. Be sure to cleanse your skin before bed. And, regularly wash your makeup sponges to avoid spreading dirt and bacteria over your face.
Moisturizing is especially important in winter, when your skin needs a little extra hydration, but get into the habit of doing it every day. Use a mild moisturizer after you shower, or before bed, to keep your skin soft and healthy.
Sleep gives your body and skin a chance to recover and rejuvenate. If you don’t get enough sleep, you will look tired and have dark circles below your eyes. A good night’s sleep will leave you looking refreshed and bright eyed.
Exfoliating removes dead skin cells, unclogs your pores, and also helps to boost your circulation, all of which will help you look great. A gentle facial exfoliator, used once a week, and a body brush, used every morning to gently brush your skin before you shower, is all you need.
